I have been diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in my knee so I have pretty much stopped running or doing any exercise for awhile. I really miss our sessions because you are so attentive to particular aches and pains, and with your technique you really know how to work on specific areas of concern. Since I've seen Ellen, when she started her own practice in 2011, I'm hooked. She has done amazing things to my body. Not just therapeutic, but restorative. I used to be a black diamond skier, with some random injuries, and now an avid hiker/backpacker. If you factor in my desk job, and a history of frozen shoulder, my neck and shoulders sure need a tune up. Ellen delivers. To be honest, I'm not coming in as often as I should. But when I ache and hurt all over she knows exactly what needs to be done. She's blending her knowledge, skills and intuitive mind to get my body realigned. I couldn't thank her enough for healing up my poor aching body every time...

It was a decent massage at first. Just after I felt great. Standing and walking around still felt great, but laying down or leaning against something hurts. I feel like my entire backside from low back to shoulders should be purple. They aren't, but that is how they've physically felt all week. I know that when the massage is in process, some pain is good. So its hard for me to tell how much is going too far. Other massage places I've gone to, have done a better job of reading the signals my body sends out (signals I myself am often unsure of). My guess is that the worst portion, was probably the time I spent laying on my back with her hands jammed underneath me using the weight of my body as the level of pressure used. I usually give every massage location 2 tries before I ditch them. But I hurt worse than I did going into the massage. And that beyond sucks. Its the fourth day after my massage and I'm still taking meds and using ice packs just to try and sleep in the evenings. She is a wonderful person, but I just can't convince myself to go back.

Ellen did a stellar job on my deep tissue massage. I indulged in 90 minutes of getting my knots and stressful spots loose. She practices out of her apartment in downtown Edmonds where you park easily at parking spot #9. The setting is not a fancy place, but it is clean and comfortable. I felt rejuvenated the next day after the massage!

I went to see Ellen for chronic pain in my neck and shoulders which I'm experiencing for over nine years due my desk job. I've seen many chiropractors and PT's and always thought massage was just for relaxation. A friend referred me to Ellen and I finally decided to go for it. It's hard to describe my first session since I'd never had received such therapeutic bodywork. But I felt so comfortable with her demeanor and way of working I came back for a follow up treatment the next week. This totally made a difference! My chronic symptoms were almost gone, for a full week. With her tips and advice about posture, preventive care and exercises I now know I'm on the right path to recovery! I'm very pleased with her expertise & skills and recommend anyone who suffers from chronic pain to make an appointment with her.
